# Interventional Centre

> A Sydney interventional radiology practice led by Dr Mihir Desai (BMed MD FRANZCR EBIR) and
> Dr Suhrid Lodh (MBBS FRANZCR EBIR). We treat conditions from inside the blood vessels using
> imaging guidance, through a pinhole rather than a surgical incision, usually under local
> anaesthetic and light sedation as a day procedure. Our main areas are prostate artery
> embolisation for an enlarged prostate, genicular artery embolisation for knee osteoarthritis,
> and musculoskeletal embolisation for chronic joint and tendon pain.

## Cover

The procedures we perform are covered by Medicare. We are happy to see privately insured
patients, and for those without private cover we consult and treat in the public hospital
system, so there is a pathway to treatment whatever your circumstances. A referral from a GP or
specialist is needed for a Medicare rebate to apply to a consultation. We do not publish fees or
MBS item numbers on this site.
